The Walt Disney Company has partnered with China to open a new theme park in Shanghai. The park is scheduled to open sometime in 2015. According to board members, the opportunity for such a large expansion into China is the best opportunity the company has had for growth since land was purchased in Florida to build Walt Disney World. The park will be 57% owned by China and 43% owned by The Walt Disney Company, revenues will be split accordingly, with increased amounts earned for licensing fees and name usage.
